INDIGO 2.0 hearing

Posted on 6 Nov at 20:09

The Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) announced the second Heritage Science Austria project call in November 2024. The INDIGO team submitted a proposal for a follow-up project, INDIGO 2.0.

After successfully passing the first and second review stages, the team was invited to present the proposal in the third and final interview round on November 6, 2025.

In the coming weeks, we will learn whether our presentation convinced the jury to fund INDIGO 2.0, allowing us to continue setting new standards for documenting and disseminating contemporary graffiti-scapes.

Summary

Graffiti is unique, short-lived heritage balancing between tangible and intangible, offensive and pleasant. Graffiti makes people laugh, wonder, angry, think.

The two-year INDIGO project aims to build the basis to systematically document, monitor, and analyse circa 13 km of graffiti along Vienna’s Danube Canal in the next decade.
