INDIGO on GitHub

COOLPI and AUTOGRAF logos

INDIGO is developing many hard- and software solutions for more effective graffiti documentation. In the last few days, the first two software packages have been released: COOLPI and AUTOGRAF.

INDIGO is an open science project; this does not only mean that our software is shared freely, but one can even download the source code via GitHub.

COOLPI or the COlour Operations Library for Processing Images is a Python toolbox for the treatment of colorimetric and spectral data: https://github.com/GraffitiProjectINDIGO/coolpi

AUTOGRAF is a Python add-on toolbox for Metashape Professional to enable AUTomatic Orthorectification of GRAFfiti photos: https://github.com/GraffitiProjectINDIGO/AUTOGRAF

The INDIGO staff is currently also finalising a few articles to introduce these software packages to the wider scientific heritage community, because these tools can easily find applicability beyond graffiti documentation.

Summary

Graffiti is unique, short-lived heritage balancing between tangible and intangible, offensive and pleasant. Graffiti makes people laugh, wonder, angry, think.

The two-year INDIGO project aims to build the basis to systematically document, monitor, and analyse circa 13 km of graffiti along Vienna’s Danube Canal in the next decade.
